Every platform on our list has been tested by a real person — not just scraped from the internet. We update our rankings regularly to make sure the information stays accurate.
We score each platform across five areas:
Content freedom — How far can conversations go? Are there restrictions that kick in unexpectedly?
Conversation quality — Does the AI feel natural? Does it remember context across the chat?
Character customisation — Can you build your own companion or are you stuck with presets?
Privacy and security — Is your data kept private? What does the platform log?
Value for money — Is the pricing fair for what you get?
